There are too many Diamonds already. You can get Diamond status with a CC. Will the CC Diamond benefit go away?

I might have the wrong impression but this "Honors society" seems to match Bonvoy Ambassador status in exhaltation rank.
With Lifetime Diamonds being demoted like Bonvoy lifetime titaniums in the pecking order.
It does seem highly unlikely that Hilton Honors Diamond status will go away for Hilton Aspire AmEx cardholders. The Hilton-AmEx card relationship makes too much money for either side to give up.

It is the new Diamond Reserve status (80 nights, $18K spend) that seems modeled after Marriott BONV°Y Ambassador Elite status (100 nights, $23K spend), which has no lifetime possibility. It is doubtful there will be Hilton Diamond Reserve lifetime status, either.

The Honors Society may be a way to one- catch up to Marriott, which lacks an with its Cobalt invitation-only status.
