The new Citi ThankYou Mastercard Core which is the old SYW MC has 5x, 3x, 2x and 1x categories. The legacy Sears card is 1x on everything. So from that standpoint the new card is superior. The legacy Sears card gets special offers in TYP while the Core card is still only getting statement credit offers. Assuming equal offers (10,000 TYP vs $100 statement credit) the legacy Sears card is superior.
