I have stayed at Crowne Plaza Kyoto, Okayama, Fukuoka, Nagasaki, and Kumamoto; Kyoto and Nagasaki had controllable AC and bathrooms with counter space, while Okayama, Fukuoka, and Kumamoto all did not. Due to more than half of them not having AC, I am avoiding Japanese Crowne Plazas in the future, and suggest the same to any of you who don't want to stay in a 4 star hotel, often the fanciest in said city, where you cannot sleep in the room cooler than 25 degrees C. I really don't understand how these places stay in business... to me, the first star in "four star hotel" should be AC to at least room temperature. All these Asian guests (...) stay in these 25 degree plus rooms at such a fancy hotel with no complaints!
