I purchased a bottled water in SCL after security, for my flight to DFW. Upon arriving at the gate, they were doing inspection of carryons and prohibited all liquids even if purchased after security. The store had happily sold it to me. What's the deal here?
Blame TSA rules. I had the same thing happen on a recent DOH-SEA flight on QR. They do additional security screening for US bound flights inside the already secured terminal. Luckily mine was just filled at the lounge so I wasn't out money, but it make zero sense.
