Given SFO isn't an AY outstation, if there were shenanigans there, it would have been by AA or AS. I'm skeptical of their ability to unseat someone on an AY flight.
In any event, I'm glad this worked out. I'm also hopeful you got to enjoy some nice pre-flight F&B in the QF or AA lounges. I'm going to be stuck in PEY ex-LAX in a few weeks, and part of my coping will be to enjoy some lounge salads before hand
