Honestly, I did not really like Sapphire House as it missed important aspects that I really care about. For my expectations in Europe, I think this property could improve. Here are my impressions and photos:
Pros:
- The wood beams in my attic room are visually interesting
- The tiramisu pancakes at breakfast were yummy (though, note they were served cold, which makes some sense)
- Good croissant and salmon on restaurant breakfast buffet
Neutral:
- Had to ask, but was able to get 2 PM checkout - I asked for 2 or 3 and they responded with 2 - hence my perception of them having trepidations on this
- The bed was odd - plush mattress but very lumpy on the top, covers were too thin, pillows were plush (maybe too thick on some)
- Only received two small gems for the (good) diamond chocolates - no drinks or anything as reported above
- Was upgraded to Diamond Junior Suite - did see Brilliant Diamond Suite online as Almost Sold Out but didn’t ask about it
Cons:
- Box of cotton buds in bathroom was opened and used with one bud remaining - ew
- Shower pressure was not good
- Half glass spills water on floor
- Bathroom did not smell great
- Junior suite had no real extra furniture and was just a bigger room - stretch to call this a suite
- Omelet at breakfast had flavorless cheese and was not very good - I couldn’t even finish it
- Only one treadmill in gym - was already occupied - oh well
- Elevator to my wing broken on day of departure, so I had to carry my luggage down many stairs
- Took way too long to get an invoice as their printer wasn’t working and they took a long time to manually email me one as I asked
I don’t think I would jump at coming back.
