If I through in my confirmed China Eastern ticket, SZX-TPE, then it says the 240 TWOV is allowed "with extra documentation." While it doesn't elaborate, I assume that means proof of a confirmed onward ticket to a 3rd region.
So the question is - is standard usage of this tool to put in all flights for a particular trip, or only the KLM flights? What the agent sees largely hinges on this.

Of course, it is not clear how you do PEK-TPE in the first itinerary filled in. Fill in SFO-AMS-PEK and SZX-TPE. Again, it all boils down if China sees an exit to TPE as an exit to a 3rd country. This obviously is the case for any regular country, I strongly believe for Hong Kong and Macau too, but not sure about Taiwan.
