Another night in Bogota

I had one last night in Bogota (the flight price back home increased exponentially if I wanted to start the flight in CTG!) so back to CTG airport to fly south.

CTG airport was pretty efficient in terms of check-in and security. I found a quiet spot at a bar on the upper level of the airport and had a beer whilst waiting for the flight.



I took my seat in Row 1 and had the seat in the aisle free again. Until... a lady who had been ill in Row 4 because of the turbulence was plopped into the aisle seat for some reason. She spent 20 mins in the toilet when the seatbelt sign went off and then cried for the rest of the flight. Poor thing. The only thing I didn't appreciate was the spewey smell beside me



Decided to have a beer today!





Upon landing in Bogota, I walked for what felt like an eternity and got through to baggage claim. My bag was first off and I was in a car to the Hilton hotel for the evening. I checked in just as happy hour was starting in the lounge. I had booked the Presidential Suite which had some fantastic views over the city.















Very spacious lounge with great staff who provided table service.





A great meal of crispy pork belly and a local soup - Ajiaco - chicken, potatoes, corn on the cob, coriander, rice and avocado - absolutely delicious!





The room was very comfortable and I was getting a great night of sleep until I was woken up at 430am by the guy next door singing at the top of his voice. A call to reception was promptly made but it was still going on after 5 minutes. I popped on the dressing gown and hammered on his door until he answered. After a few 'choice' words and a member of the security staff appearing, he got the message and shut up!
