Is this reply serious? It's not hard to just list what is in the meal. If mushrooms are included in a wrap, or covering a meat dish, just freaking list it. It can prevent someone from that 1% getting something 'hidden' in a dish and prevent food waste when they inevitable hand it back. No one is saying don't include X (mushrooms in this case), just list them as included and don't have 4 of 5 meals include them (as they did on 2 recent flights).
As far as I can tell 1) none of the people complaining in this thread actually have a mushroom allergy, they're just handwringing about other imaginary people because they personally don't
like mushrooms and 2) there's already a mechanism for people with serious alergies to be accommodated (e.g. special meal request, which, if you're early enough to be pre-ordering (which seems to be the assumption here since we're talking about the descriptions on the website), you're early enough to put in a special meal request).
