Porter Airlines in Canada uses this and it's great. I was able to watch youtube videos the entire trip from YYC to YYZ and it was like being on a wired connection. No pauses, no dropouts.

I had to enter my FF number to have ad free access for the entire trip if I didn't have a FF account ( but free to join) there was a single ad every 30 min. Not a bad tradeoff I thought. Otherwise, free to all passengers.
