At $1500 for 500 MQDs to Silver, a cheap short flight to an outstation might cost $500 RT with a flight length of about an hour. Starting to head for the airport two hours before departure, taking the outbound segment, waiting one or two hours for the return flight, taking the return flight, and leaving the airport would consume approximately 2 + 1 + 1.5 + 1 + .5 = 6 hours for a net cost of $1000, which is about $167 per hour.
At $7500 for 2500 MQDs to DM, consider a transcend RT ticket or perhaps a RT flight to Hawaii for the out-and-back mileage run. This will consume a long day for a savings of $5000, which would be a nice consulting rate.
With a little help from Google Flights, you can find much closer options that'll earn 2500 MQDs if that is all you are after.
