Thanks. I didn't expect BA to have a customer friendly response, was just hoping they will refund for a cancellation when it is outside their control. I expected a voucher, at best.
They are legally required to offer you the choice between rebooking and a refund if their flight is cancelled.
They aren't required to offer anything, and generally choose not to, where there is merely a risk of disruption. That is more something the US carriers go for.
