An E175 can probably fit ~50 22" rollerboards, even if they're all laid sideways.
I can understand 35 on an E175 just to reduce the clogging from folks looking for bin space, but 20 is a huge overkill.
I don't think Delta's E175s accommodate anywhere near 50 rollaboards. When United put out a release saying they were retrofitting Embraer's larger bins, they said 29 more bags was an 80 percent increase from a standard E175. That would mean the normal bins can take 36 standard carry ons. The problem is most people don't have standard carry ons. They have all sorts of different sized bags with various things protruding and hanging off like a Christmas tree. Figuring out what fits and what doesn't takes a lot of time. Though frustrating, I can understand Delta's decision to say 20 bags that's it.
