Here's my situation - I'll end up with 46 nights this year and 596 LT nights (10+ yrs Plat) leaving me just shy of LTP. In Jan/2026 I already have 4 more nights booked, so LTP will be achieved without a break in Plat benefits. I'll miss this year's Plat choice of 5 LUAs though, if I don't make it to 50. There are no el cheapo properties in Finland. I could probably book a couple of nights on points and another couple for cash but it seems a waste of points and money just for the 5 LUAs.

In my experience, I get nice upgrade most of the time anyway (writing this from a suite at the Westin Zagreb) so the value of LUAs are questionable. If I really wanted to impress my better half, I could probably use the cash NOT spent for the missing 4 nights to book a suite instead of a regular room.
