I am sorry but i am not sure if you are serious. Have you been to these third party lounges AMEX provides? Most of them offer some basic sandwiches and you have to pay for alcoholic drinks. Only very few providing proper catering/shower facilities etc.
Regarding fly J class your argument is extremely poor. The whole idea is to get status as cheap as possible and then use it while flying in economy or PE. I have managed to requalify with Aegean for less than 1k and in 1 extreme case for about 500 euros. Then i can use my status to fly with all the other star alliance members and get all the perks. If i had 3k+ to spend every time i fly long haul i wouldn't be here talking about status!
