I saw one other GGL at the gate and he wasn’t in CCD. There were also two post-flight-close op ups to First.
Makes one wonder how many other people could have got in that didn’t today.
This place has some potential.
I agree and when I walked through the main lounge to use the lavatory before a 77W flight the place was totally full (8F, 76J) so it is going to be worse with an A380 (14F, 97J).
Add to that:
1. It is a very GGL-heavy route; they have now expanded the G0 section (which was needed) but it is certainly in the realms of, if not beyond, JFK/BOS/EDI/NCE/GVA. After 26th November probably even more so...
2. It is a very premium-leisure heavy route with passengers using the lounge for longer. And BA are probably going to see some pax who are getting GGL on a single trip with a stay at a suite at the Atlantis Royal etc. via BAH.
3. People tend to arrive earlier than other airports due to passport control, busy security, the transit and wanting to get a VAT refund.
4. For the 1am/2am flight people want to eat before they get on the plane.
Slight reduction to 12F in the new A380 cabin but it is going to be tight in the CCDR.
