Entry/exit question with children re Chile
Hi,
I will be traveling to Chile with a minor child next month. We are all U.S. citizens. The U.S. State Department website seems to be indicate I need to bring (I presume original) an “apostilled birth certificate” with me for this trip: https://cl.usembassy.gov/under-age-18-chile-exit-requirements/. If it matters, both parents will be on the trip. Does anyone know if this is true? It seems surprising to me that I would need to bring original birth certificates for a family vacation, but perhaps that’s the case. Has anyone been through this? (if there’s any uncertainty on this, presumably I will bring the birth certificate to be safe.). Thank you.
