Regarding Italy, the most recent update to requirements is from
August 2024 and the original requirements start in
March 2024 - these cross reference ICAO and WHO underlying protocols. The BA list above doesn't align with the requirements, which explain why other members of the board aren't seeing spraying on flights UK - Italy (also given short haul and what counts as aircraft having been in an infected country). In essence the current rules say:
- If your aircraft has been in an affected country (understood to be based on WHO listings) in the past 28 days, you’ll need to show/upload an ICAO format Residual Disinsection Certificate (which shows it has been sprayed and is valid for 7 weeks).
- The local authorities can request a spray (in practice that would apply if you couldn't show 1 was met where needed.
- If you fell in 1 then the August 2024 update following airline feedback allows a single trip spray before pax board ahead of the flight to Italy (this came in from September 2024).
Hope that helps - afraid the links are in Italian.
