The only thing I've eaten at Garden is sushi, and it was perfectly acceptable, as was the sushi at AS. That said, it is not Japan, and I don't expect that quality outside of Japan.

If you are eligible for AS my experience is that they will not let you into AM Garden. I've tried a few times. They seem to have little issue with the other AM lounge, though.
I've only been to Garden lounge two or three times, and I didn't have a problem.
