switched from AS flt to HA due to irrops about 3.5 hr prior to departure and (as expected) failed miserably trying to upgrade... call center couldnt do it due to airport control within 4 hrs, airport checkin and gate can not do cert upgrades (but can process upsells). Flight went out with 5+ lieflat seats empty. Eco comfort was quite empty too so it was a pleasant ride on a widebody but this is yet another reminder that until april you have to get on HA waitlist in advance..
(also somehow during AS-HA switch all our fancy FFN and KTN got dropped from PNR and we could not do anything to that itinerary online)
