I actually spent some time on a flight a few weeks ago asking how things looked on the devices. The crew more than indulged me on it. It only shows Alaska status on the seat summary screen, for an example I had a little "T" in the corner to show I was a Titanium. American and OneWorld status apparently doesn't show on the seat map screen. My coworker flying next to me also had the T, and the crew already knew we were the only 2 Titaniums on the flight. But they could click the seat and see more about me, if I had a connecting flight wherever it was we were landing, and Million Miler and OneWorld status if I had it. They said the Elite Tier overrides MM on the main seat screen.

Then they quickly went through the other things they can do, the script generated for the PA announcements with the flight info merged into it, how they do transactions for people in the back that wanted to buy something, etc.

So, the tech works... now if the crew decides to use the tools given to them is a different matter.
