Actually, they've ever so slightly increased the gold benefits (2000 birthday miles and -50% on extra legroom, headingwest free standard seat selection was already a benefit).

you dont need to generate those 18k miles during that 12 segments. if you will be able to do 12 segments with OA/A3, those 18K miles can be flown on any *A airilne. So, if he fly regularly with any airline + 2/3 times a year visits greece, he is safe.
