Checked in for 3 nights as a Globalist a few days ago and they didn't have any upgrades for the weekend.

The studio queen rooms are TINY! There isn't any space to walk around on the right side of the bed and it touches the curtains next to the window. The desk barely fits a laptop and a chair depth wise. The sink is one of those small ones commonly found in Japan but the faucet is a regular one that extends too far so the water always gets on the ground or on your clothes when washing your hands. It feels like being at a Moxy or Caption, but a poorly executed one at best.

They also wanted 200 ZAR to do laundry myself in the laundry room?! There are services in Joburg that will pickup and drop off for less than this per load.

I wish they moved the closet where the kitchen is and got rid of the kitchen to make the bed and desk area bigger. I usually don't feel claustrophobic but I definitely felt it in this room and most people stay at Hyatt House to enjoy a bit more space longer term. This is a huge contrast to the new Hyatt House with big spacious rooms that opened in Nairobi.
