If so, my suggestion is to ask the FA about bin space before you board - usually if there is space they will tell you, and you can bring it on.
Yes I carried it down the bridge, left it at the door. Then I stuck my head in and could see that there were plenty of bin spaces. An FA was standing right there, so I asked her if I could just bring it in. She said I can't if it's already tagged.
