I am saying it because regarding the Asiana Korean Air Merger, South Korea's FTC has been redistributing slots on routes currently monopolized by Asiana and Korean Air to get the airlines integrated and Air Premia already flies EWR-ICN so Air Premia would be unlikely to take JFK-ICN slots from Asiana/Korean Air.
I think Air Premia would do much better than AA on JFK-ICN, as it's mostly VFR traffic that would prefer a Korean carrier, and the Korean community on the Long Island side of NY is quite large. AA can cover the NYC-SEL market pretty well through connections at HND or DFW and I doubt they can profitably fill a widebody on a daily nonstop (I think their JFK-HND flight would definitely not work without the JL joint venture).
