Thank you everyone. Great advice all around. Think I will stick with the HP at this point (they accepted us as a part of 3 without surcharge on points res) - and plan to either Tip a Taxi or do SBahn if we feel like a bit more of a stretch.
Just make sure to have some cash as backup for tickets if you're taking SBann. During my last trip I was able to pay with card from the airport terminal, but on my way back from the Gateway Garden station none of my cards worked.
