I can’t think of a worse value for money than staying at a western branded chain in Tokyo. Often 3-4x the price of the equivalent local brands. Hyatt, Hilton, IHG and Marriott all massively overcharge in relation to their local competitors. I can’t think of another city where this is so blatantly the case.

I guess it works a for them, but it’s wild to me that people pay a massive Marriott premium to stay at a dump like this one.
