Given what AA has done with international long-haul redemptions, is anyone really surprised that the caps on premium transcons have been lifted? It's just what all the other US carriers have already done. What's surprising (at least to me) is that AA still provides the level of value it does, with decent redemptions still pretty widely available.
Right? I'm flying to Europe next summer for 19k per person. It's hard to be too upset when there is definite value still to be had.
