There is first availability using avios, but a lot less than it used to be with the reduction in F seats generally.

Just finding avios availability is hard and fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your point of view, it's a lot easier to force an avios ticket in first (A ticket bucket) by using a GUF or a GGL space release, both of which require 35k or 40k tier points under the new system.
