The other Gold starting telling my sibling what the rules of the exit row are and was telling her and the crew loudly that she was a frequenting Gold. Sibling said she knew what she was doing with regards to the exit row rules (there aren’t that many on an A380!!)
Crew were nearby and saw it all. Sibling got a Gold welcome, champagne from CW and a CW washbag with a wink. Her Gold neighbour didn’t get anything. Made her day.
I can see how it would make her day. The problem with these sorts of examples, as I am increasingly aware - and we should all try to be aware - is that whilst the person may well have been (probably was) an arse, it is entirely possible that they may be autistic, set on sharing the knowledge they have of an intense interest in aviation, and simply not recognising social cues. And it might not be easy to tell the difference.
