With what hotel brands, you do not get the points nor your benefits if you book a Hilton property through the Chase Travel Portal, nor do you with Marriott Bonvoy.
Both require direct bookings, or with the case of Hilton, they allow for American Express's Fine Resorts and Hotels, so maybe IHG allows it, I don't know.
Last year my sister, without talking to me booked two weeks using CSR points at the Waldorf Grand Wailea, thinking she was going to re-qualify for Diamond with those 14 nights , returning the day after Christmas, and get a ton of Honors points. She got no benefits for her Diamond Status for the stay, no points, no night credits, and missed out on Diamond Status for 2025 because of it. She wished that she had spoken with me before booking it.
Even Google's AI tells you this, and tells you something similar for Marriott. Go to the Hilton and Marriott forums and read about it as well.
