It’s unlikely that the hotels have a good sense right now of when they will reopen. The date is probably just a reasonable placeholder while they assess damage and plan repairs, and different properties will end up reopening at different times. Often, Caribbean properties themselves are pretty solidly built and not heavily damaged, but the surrounding infrastructure (e.g. power and water) is a bigger problem; these timelines are often not up to the properties. Sometimes an individual property will end up staying closed for longer because the forced closure is a good opportunity to start a renovation.
