How come your passport is valid for more than 10 years? I think that might be the issue. I have never seen any authority issued passport with 10 years and 9 months validity.

Think about this: your passport was issued in Jan 2016, so in most cases it will set to expire in Jan 2026. Jan 2026 is less than 3 months out (as of today).
