Well my firm handled things for cxLoyalty, before and during the Chase acquisition, and Travelocity before Expedia acquired them. So I'd say I am pretty familiar with how the operations are set up, and Expedia's wholesale product is solely a backend operation (being the operating system and API, not providing any services) which is what Travelocity was using before they just sold outright to Expedia, which is mostly owned by Microsoft.
thanks for clarification. i wasnt questioning this part of your original post. i just didnt think the agents were speaking in general or uneducated terms since they were specific about the OTA used. the thing is i assumed the booking ota would appear as cxloyalty even if they used expedia backend services, and on 2nd thought, that may not be true
