Well I sent a note last night about a recent flight. I explicitly said that I don't want compensation, but I do want to alert you to a minor operational failure.
  1. my pre-order wasn't boarded, but nobody told me and I just got served a different meal option with no choice offered.
  2. my cutlery had food bits stuck to it - i.e. hadn't been cleaned properly. This one's happened to me before out of DEN.
This morning I received a $100 ETC. That means having to "suffer" through eating something that was different from my order, but perfectly edible, is worth 4/9ths of a cancellation and 16 hour arrival delay. Go figure.
