Internally the first 787 is due to commence ops at LGW in 2027, coinciding with the delivery of the -10s. I’m as skeptical as the next man as to the likelihood of this coming to fruition but those I’ve spoken to are adamant that that’s the plan, so much so that I actually withdrew my bid for the 777 this year as the long term plan is to preference as much LGW as possible.
