Flying in from the us you should exit into z departures. You will find lh service desks there that can give you the boarding pass without going to check in.

No idea why aa cannot issue the bp. QR can give me my LH boarding passes no problem. Maybe there is some LH docs check and because aa and lh use different systems (sabre and amadeus?) then aa cannot clear it
