Name of the hotel:
Pullman Jumeirah lakes towers
What is your ALL status? Platinum
Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? No
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Superior room upgraded to an executive room. It's the same room just with lounge access.. which is already included with the status so not really an upgrade to the bigger 40m room.
How are the rooms? Tired and showing their age. Lots of scratched furniture.
What was good and what was bad?
Good: Nothing. Everything was either average or bad
Bad: I had two main issues. One is the wifi never got above 1mbs the entire stay. I mentioned this at front desk on day 1, sent and email on day 2, and final another email on Day 4 to the general manager of a 6 night stay. They visited my room to "fix" the problem but it was never fixed. They did offer me another plate of deserts though.
Second: I booked with a corporate TA. The TA can access both OTA and direct bookings (like STEP agents). This is clearly identified in booking what rate is being booked and if it's eligible for ALL. I chose a rate eligible. On arrival they confirmed I'm eligible for points and benefits and had my welcome drinks ready etc.
On Day 3 while I was in the lounge I was asked to leave, since I didn't book an eligible rate I don't have access. Kinda humiliating. I was sure I booked the right rate. I whatsapped Accor HQ to confirm and they confirmed pretty quickly that it is indeed eligible. That's when I emailed the GM to complain. He didn't even apologise. Just said I am right and it shouldn't have happened.
Otherwise. Breakfast is meh with few options and a dining room that looks like an ibis.
Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? Yes. Lounge is okay. The canapés are limited but nice. The wifi there was also terrible, and I heard other guests having issues.
What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?
Welcome amenity
Apology amenity
Was able to use welcome drink for a Starbucks iced drink at 6 or 7 euros. Pool bar told me it's just a white or a red.
Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
I need to be in JLT for my job often. Over the summer I was booked in the Taj nearby which is significantly nicer, but is more expensive. In the winter the difference becomes more substantial so I can't say that it was over priced. It's really a Mercure or a Novotel type of hotel.
I'm looking at other Accor hotels for my next trip. I wouldn't return.
