Maybe not for J passengers where the layout is the same, but this two type mini-fleet policy bit us a few years ago in Y where we had the extra leg room seats on a GE plane booked for months going to Aruba, then a few days before put an RR plane on it and rejigged the seats so we ended up losing the legroom seats. If you're on a route that requires crew rest then your guaranteed a YMM RR frame, but the routes that don't must suffer some seat reallocations, and so frustrations.

One standard fleet would eliminate these last minute changes
