My experience is that GGL nominees are still soft-landing to Silver or Bronze. Any nominee should have their own expiry date which will persist regardless of the status of the original nominator. So your dad should be able to re-nominate your mum and she will get a full year.

GGL will soft land to Silver if they haven’t achieved 20k nTPs to be Gold.
