I'm with the OP, except I wouldn't dream of paying for CE as I regard it as a monumentally expensive, and not particularly nice, meal. As BA Gold, I get Fast Track at LGW and lounge access, but I get lounge access anyway through Amex Platinum. I do like to select my seat on BA and I do like to take hand baggage or checked baggage, but once I've added up those functions, then it's pretty well a straight price comparison.

And, if BA's from LHR, I will add to the EZ fare an amount of c£20 for price and inconvenience of getting to and from LGW - perhaps a little more if it's a T3 departure as I quite like T3, unlike T5 or LGW.
