I do think QR is trying to cull their elite numbers. Prior to Covid, there’d always be a 2x qpoints bonus after the end of the winter holiday travel peak. Plus, during and after covid they kept on extended status year after year. This probably is made worse with all the BA refugees too. Now with the QR metal segments *and* percentage of Qpoints earned on QR metal requirement, plus no bonus qpoints offers, I think their intentions are pretty clear. I wouldn’t be surprised if qualification and renewal numbers are also increased next year.
