This is just further proof that no one in that company has a damn clue how to run it. They're killing off one of the only benefits that was worth staying with the Air NZ FFP.
It doesn't matter if they have degrees from oxford or Auckland or harvard. Air NZ continue to screw up time and time again. The people in there are a bunch of idiots. They have a tiny idea of why they're losing market share, they probably don't realise why they're losing frequent flyers and the money they give to the airline.

There was an article by John Weekes in the the NZ Herald interviewing the new CEO who basically painted a pretty bleak picture of Air NZ and, any frequent flyer that's been paying even a bit of attention knows the crap Air NZ is in. The writing has been on the wall for a very long time. Despite the bleak picture painted by the CEO, the reality is Air NZ are literally staring down the barrel of a shotgun. I think the situation is a lot worse than how the new CEO painted it and I don't think they've got a real clue on what they need to do to turn it around and turn it around fast. I'm somewhat angry to see them fail like this when it's so preventable. I'm also angry you have people on 6 figure salaries or more that are supposed to be getting good results and every year it just gets worse and worse and worse. Some CEOs bring good things to the company. I think Foran and Fyfe are 2 of those CEOs. They can't get everything perfect and there are pros and cons to some of them. I'm not terribly certain about Luxon and his effect on the airline. I'm not sure he was good for it which is also making me doubt him as a politician. I do understand that some cut throat decisions need to be made but - you have to be forward thinking, future focussed and evaluate the hell out of your decisions, especially the huge ones. And you've got to be humble enough to know when you've got it wrong and be able to back track. You can't let ego, hierarchy and titles get in the way. Not if you want the best outcome for a situation.

I will fill in the survey if only to tell them they suck.

On topic I guess I bought only 500 APD to test the system, then logged back in this morning again to see that crap. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I am literally horrified by their stupidity and angry at watching them fail YET again.
