Security is still a pain at LHR and the process changes each time. Today it was don't take your liquids out we can sScania the machine but then asked if I had any books and they needed to swab the books and some food we were carrying on.
Liquids in T3 haven’t had to be removed for the last year. T5 was later due to restructuring of floors to hold the new machines, but having passed through LHR ~12 times this year already, it’s much more streamlined than the US where every airport or even specific TSA lane is inconsistent. Otherwise, the whole transfer process is still a pain between remote stands, trains/buses, walking miles through corridors and duty free, and the inevitable delays at every phase.
