You had valid travel documents so you are eligible for duty of care (your new flights paid by SAS) and a compensation. Not only you can earn some money out of this, perhaps it also motivates SAS to properly train their agents.
I've submitted a case & I'l report back on what they have to say. How long does it normally take for the confirmation email? I kind of expected it to be instantaneous however, I'm still waiting. It is there as a new case though on the status checker.
