No surprise. LGA had a wind gust to 53mph yesterday at 12n. It was windy all day (until later in the evening) and a band of heavy rain went through in the afternoon as well.

Today will see an issue of sustained higher winds for most of the day with gusts over 40mph. I'm due out of EWR but already looking at delays.
