Even though Hilton Lifetime Diamond is technically not different to regular Diamond it does show properties that you have earned it the hard way. Since I made the top tier I have consistently been recognised and rewarded at practically every stay, some hotels bending backwards to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Outside the US of course.
I'm based in the US, and when I show up at the front desk, I am recognized as Diamond. I usually check in via the APP. IN Europe, it's a whole different story, lounges, incredible breakfast buffets either in lounges or restaurants, not so in the US.

It allows people who can't make 60 nights in a year to obtain Hyatt Globalist but still requires a lot of stays instead of just giving it out like Hilton does. You could get Hyatt Globalist without stepping foot into a hotel but it would require $140K in spend.
As I wrote, you can make AA top Elite by just CC spend, and who makes out, CC companies. I think UA does it right, you still need to fly x segments on UA to make elite even with CC
