New AA (+BA JV) EDI-JFK route - A321XLR - seasonal from 8/9 March 2026

AA has just announced EDI/JFK as its first TATL service on the A321XLR.

Cabin config is 20J/12W/123Y, lie-flat beds. Appears to be daily (TBC), timings not in the PR but route will run 8/9 March to 24/25 Oct 2026. Goes on sale 3 Nov.

Sharing here (if mods allow) as it will be part of the BA JV and will obviously be of real interest to the very many BA FFs/forumites based in Scotland. Indeed this is probably the most useful non-London route announced in recent years (and we all know how much some people like to harp on about London Airways... )

AA already flies EDI-PHL, which continues, but that is primarily for connections, and clearly there are a lot more Scots wanting to go to NYC as a destination.

In the days of TP runs, this would also have been a handy route if you wanted to add a domestic 40TP sector en route to the US. Less of an issue now in that respect, but it might still be one to try for those of us down south or if looking for awards. Though DUB clearly has some advantages over EDI on the tax and pre-clearance front.
