There hasn't been rain here lately, light sprinkles for a few minutes.
I don't think I'll be coming back for awhile, I'm sure it's just the season and maybe bad luck but mosquitoes are eating us alive. They are spraying but still an issue. The toilet isn't fully enclosed, even with the door closed, there's a 1 foot tall opening at the top. So I'm sitting trying to poop at night, slapping away mosquitoes on my legs, hoping they don't get my butt. It's not a swarm, 1 or 2 stragglers. I'll catch them and more come. In the open air bedroom, they are waiting you, I'm in the pool area in the back, the mosquitoes are coming for you. They come in when your room is being serviced cause they aren't that careful closing the doors. The whole family got bites right now, nothing too itchy, doesn't affect the adults, kid looks like they have a lump on their backs, it was bad enough to take to the clinic to take a look and they said it was a bite not to worry..lol.. it could be just bad luck right now or the season. I just didn't have this much issues at PH with mosquitoes the twice I went there.
Alila's main benefit for me is the separate living room and worst is the mosquitoes and the open air bathroom doesn't help since the mosquitoes can't be avoided. I can now see why they have to fumigate the bathroom once a day, I was told they can fumigate the pool area too but I just don't want more pesticides sprayed anywhere else. I'll just deal with the mosquitoes.
Ouch! Is the resort full? You could check if
upgrading to OWV(lesser mosquitoes) is an option. They might even comp it for the inconvenience. Good luck moolman!
PS: Pain balm/antiseptic smells usually deter mosquitoes. You might smell funny, but it will protect the exposed parts.
