Having worked with many teams in couple of FAANGs, I don't think I've ever come across a team working 18 hour days, not even 12+ hour days. 8-9 hours 5x per week is the norm. Maybe the fruit company truly does have a terrible culture compared to the others, but it's definitely not the norm. And it's madness to argue that such long hours are a healthy compromise for a job with better pay. If anything, it's extremely short-sighted to expect that you're getting top performance from anyone working 60, never mind 100+ hours a week.
In any case, it's strange to compare working as a flight attendant for an airline with working at a top tier tech company. They are incomparable in my opinion.
under Tim things has gotten a lot better but company innovation has lagged.
i can say for the fact other than Netflix every of the faang have division that works like that. Then again pay is also top.
those top performers are the leaders now in those companies.
i am not saying pay is comparable. But to say cabin crew fatigue or such a tough job is BS. The crew is also paid better than others too.
